Ring in the New Year with Special Events in Walt Disney World

Heading to Walt Disney World for New Year’s Eve this year? Disney has just announced some of the special fireworks shows and events that will be featured throughout the Resort that night to help guests celebrate the start of 2012.

Here’s the list of what guests will be able to experience on New Year’s Eve so far at the Walt Disney World Resort:

  • At Magic Kingdom, guests will be able to enjoy two different fireworks spectaculars: “Wishes,” with a holiday overlay, will be presented at 8:00 PM, followed by “Fantasy in the Sky” at 11:51 PM.
  • Epcot will offer a salute to the new year during “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth,” which will be presented at 7:00 PM and 11:42 PM.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios will present the nighttime spectacular “Fantasmic!” at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM, followed by the “Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!” fireworks presentation at midnight.
  • Guests attending performances of Cirque de Soleil at Downtown Disney on Dec. 31, which will be held at 6:00 and 9:00 PM, will receive a limited edition Walt Disney World/Cirque de Soleil pin. For pricing, contact (407) WDW-SEAT.
  • Select Disney resort hotels will offer music and entertainment for registered guests. One of these experiences will be at the Narcoosee’s restaurant in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, where guests can enjoy a four course dining experience, DJ, balloon artist, and special fireworks viewings for $149.   • The Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort will ring in the New Year with a special-ticket New Year’s Eve party. The party will run from 8:00 PM-2:00 AM and feature video DJ Tony Zapulla.
