New Characters in Flight Balloon Debuts at Disney Springs

Characters in Flight, the anchored balloon at Disney Springs, has been updated.
Gone are the characters that graced the old balloon and in their place is a design that “complements the recently transformed property” of Disney Springs.
The new design was reportedly inspired by the springs at Disney Springs and the element of water. The colors of the balloon are shades of blue with a scrolling pattern.
Characters in Flight takes guests 400 feet up in the sky while remaining anchored to the ground. The price is $20 per person for guests ages …

Characters in Flight to be Grounded Indefinitely

As we first reported earlier this week, the Characters in Flight attraction at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney was recently closed abruptly for an unscheduled inspection.  Now, word comes from the tethered balloon’s operators that rides on the attraction will be suspended indefinitely.
The ride was first closed suddenly after a the balloon’s operator, Aerophile, experienced a mishap at their location in Hong Kong with a similar balloon.  In the accident, the Hong Kong balloon sprang a leak and plunged more than 180 feet.  Five people were injured in the accident …

Characters In Flight Balloon Closes for Inspection in Downtown Disney

This weekend, a familiar sight from Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney disappeared, as the Characters in Flight hot air balloon closed for inspections. The closure comes after a similar balloon in Hong Kong suffered an accident last Thursday.
Paris-based company Aerophile, which operates the attraction, made the decision to remove the hot air balloon until further notice. A similar attraction in Disneyland Paris, also owned by Aerophile, has closed as well.
