Official Trailer for ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’ Now Available

Based on Mary Norton’s book series The Borrowers, the Studio Ghibli film The Secret World of Arrietty follows the story of little people living undetected beneath the floorboards in a secret world, just waiting to be discovered. The protagonist of the film, Arrietty (voiced by Bridgit Mendler) is eventually discovered when 12 year old Shawn moves into the home, and the pair strike up a secret friendship.

‘Finding Nemo 3D’ Trailer Released

The Academy Award-winning Finding Nemo will be returning to theaters in 3D, and the official trailer has just been released for your enjoyment. Experience the classic story all over again in Disney Digital 3D and see the movie when it arrives in theaters September 14, 2012.

Disney Photo Effects Supervisor Passes Away

Ron Osenbaugh, a special photo effects supervisor for Disney, passed away December 26 at the age of 79.
Born Ronald Earl Osenbaugh, he was best known for his work on 1985’s The Black Cauldron. Osenbaugh also worked on Disney’s Tron, as well as My Science Project and Ernest Saves Christmas.
Osenbaugh is survived by his wife, six children, four stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His two sisters, Gwen and Dorothy, are also still alive.

El Capitan Theatre to Show ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in 3D January 13

Yesterday, sources announced that Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 3D would be presented at the El Capitan Theatre from January 13 until February 2, 2012.
Kids will receive special RealD 3D glasses, and guests will be treated to a live appearance from Belle herself before each showing at the historic theatre.

IMAX Poster Released for Disney’s ‘John Carter’

Disney’s upcoming film John Carter, based on a series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, now has its own IMAX 3D poster. The official poster features a still shot from the film’s trailer, and definitely depicts one of the most action-packed scenes in the film.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Will Debut in 3D in January

After the enormous success of Disney’s The Lion King in 3D, RealD Inc. and Walt Disney Pictures are celebrating the upcoming debut of another Disney classic – Beauty and the Beast, which will be released in 3D January 13.
As part of the release, limited edition RealD 3D kids’ glasses, which feature movie-themed colors and images of such iconic characters like Mrs. Pott’s, Chip and the Beast, will be distributed free of charge with every child’s ticket purchased when the film is released in theaters.

Replica of ‘Up’ House in Utah Has Sold

In July, we told you about a replica of Carl and Ellie’s house from the Disney film Up that was put on the market. Today, sources have announced that the home has been sold.
The couple who purchased the home, Clinton and Lynette Hamblin, are self-professed Disney fanatics. They said that finding this replica home was a “dream come true;” Lynette Hamblin also stated that “We just love the message of the movie – adventure is out there.”

Disney’s ‘Lady and the Tramp’ to Be Released on Blu-Ray in 2012

Disney’s beloved classic Lady and the Tramp will be the first Disney Diamond Edition release in 2012. While the film was restored and brought back in 2006, it has since languished in the Disney vault since 2007.
While several features from the 2006 re-release will be included with the Diamond Edition, other features are completely brand new. Disney’s ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ to Appear in 4D October 21

Disney’s beloved cult classic The Nightmare Before Christmas is coming in 4D to the El Capitan Theatre. In addition to the 3D showing of the film, additional effects will be added to the theater (like wind, snow and fog) to transform the movie into a 4D experience.
