Disneyland’s Holiday Fireworks Show Canceled Temporarily

On Tuesday, Disneyland’s holiday fireworks show was canceled again, making this the fifth time in the past week the show has had to be canceled.
The holiday display “Believe in Holiday Magic” was first canceled Thursday, due to both weather issues and a technical difficulty. That very night, a Disney employee had to be transported to the local hospital due to a noise-related injury sustained due to the fireworks show, but was subsequently released after treatment.

Celebrate the New Year with Exclusive Disney Merchandise

There are several new items coming to Disney Parks this year, which will allow visitors to ring in the New Year in style. One of the items is the clock-inspired Disney Eat Hat, designed by Mark Seppala, who says that Alice in Wonderland partially inspired him to create this new ear hat.
Additionally, the clock theme carries over into the Disney Pins, with a new pin featuring Tinkerbell. Two additional Disney Pins will also be released at Disneyland and Walt Disney World to help commemorate the New Year.

Video: Cars Land Attractions ‘Luigi’s Flying Tires’ and ‘Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree’ Begin Testing

The Disneyland Resort is preparing for the opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure in a few months, and the land’s new attractions are beginning to take shape. The new land will feature three brand new attractions: Radiatior Springs Racers, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, and Luigi’s Flying Tires. Disney to Make Surprise Announcement New Years Eve

Walt Disney World and Disneyland are gearing up for their 2012 “Year of More Magic” promotion, and will be making a surprise announcement New Years Eve.

Gary Sinise Narrates Disneyland’s Candlelight Procession

Disneyland’s annual Candlelight Procession and Ceremony was held just this past weekend, and Gary Sinise (CSI: NY) was the star narrator of this holiday event.
53 years ago, Walt Disney started this event as a way to thank various community organizations, and now it has grown to feature a 600-voice choir that sing and hold candles as they make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.

Two Disneyland Attractions to Close Temporarily

This month, two attractions at Disneyland park will close temporarily for routine maintenance. While major closures are typically done in January, since December is a busy month for tourists, these ride closures will only be for a few days.
The two rides that will be closing are Jungle Cruise, which shuts down today, and Indiana Jones Adventure, which will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Both rides are undergoing routine maintenance and are expected to be closed for a short time.

New Ghiradelli Location to Open in Disney California Adventure

Chocolate lovers will soon have another way to satisfy their sweet tooth at Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort. As reported by Disney Food Blog last June, Disney has announced that a Ghiradelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop will be opening in the park’s Pacific Wharf area.

Shanghai Disneyland Expected to Receive up to 15 Million Annual Visits

Sources say that Shanghai Disneyland is expected to receive between 10.5 and 15 million visitors annually when the park opens. Construction on the new park began in April 2011, and is expected to finish in 2016.
Said Alastair M. Morrison, director with the International Academy of Tourism,

Disney VoluntEARS serve their communities in many helpful ways, but one of their most heartwarming gestures of outreach is “Operation Uplift.”
