The Week in Disney News: Reservations Open for Festival of the Arts, New 2017 Merchandise, and More

festival of arts logoHappy New Year! Here’s to a wonderful, Disney-filled 2017! The year ended with some exciting Disney news, so let’s check it out!

If you’re making plans to attend the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, bookings are now open for the special events. There are also dining packages available, paired with the Disney on Broadway shows.

Epcot’s Canada pavilion is celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday with a free commemorative button. Guests can pick up their button now through July 1.

A new welcome show is coming to the Magic Kingdom on January 9. Guests will be able to enter Main Street U.S.A. before the park opens and watch the show at the Castle Forecourt Stage.

A new year means new dated merchandise! New 2017-themed merchandise is now available at the Disney Parks. Some of the new 2017 dated merchandise items feature artwork inspired by the nighttime skies at the Disney Parks. The merchandise features a cosmic theme with patterns, colors inspired by distant galaxies, mixed with Disney characters.

New vacation packages have been announced for 2017 including a Summer Quick Service Meal package that gives guests one free quick service meal each day of their stay.

In sad news, Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher died at age 60.

And finally, the artists lineup has been announced for the Disney on Broadway concerts at the Epcot Festival of the Arts.
