‘Toy Story 3’ Garners One Golden Globe Nomination

The nominations for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards were announced earlier today.  “Toy Story 3” has been nominated for one award – Best Animated Feature Film.

While it certainly isn’t surprising that the film has been nominated, it is baffling that it only picked up one nod.  Noticeably absent:  a mention for the film in the category of Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.  Both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were previously nominated for the top award, and Toy Story 2 won it in 1999.

The Golden Globes, awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, will air on Sunday, January 16 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

  • Tangled, another animated movie was also nominated. Toy Story is being pushed by Disney company so they can market another tent pole movie- always easier to do and to push those toys toys toys.

  • Yes, it was, as well Alice in Wonderland and ABC TV’s Modern Family. I have an article in the works on all of Disney’s nominations. Thanks so much for your comment!
