Dining at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

Whether you want an elegant, intimate dinner for two or a family-friendly restaurant, you’ll find something enjoyable for everyone when dining at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

At Napa Rose, the hotel’s signature restaurant, you’ll be treated to a seasonally rotating menu that features fresh ingredients and unique tastes you are unlikely to find anywhere else. Additionally, the chef’s 4-course prix-fixe menu changes on a weekly basis, so you are never sure what you’re going to get. Appetizers can be anything from hand-harvested diver scallops; entrees can be strawberry sage barbecue duck breast or prime rib.

The food isn’t the only reason worth dining at Napa Rose, however. The environment is richly detailed with leaded glass windows and inlaid wood paneling, and the vast selection of wines on their wine list is incomparable. The restaurant also features a separate lounge for guests to relax with a glass of wine and an appetizer, or sample one of Napa Roses’s signature desserts.

For something a little more different and a lot more family-friendly, visit the Storytellers Cafe. At breakfast, join Chip ‘n Dale and their friends for a lively character breakfast buffet featuring plenty of kid-friendly fare like omelets, Mickey Mouse waffles and fresh fruit. Lunch and dinner brings plenty of home style, hearty food as well such as salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas, steaks and more. Many of the selections served here have a California inspiration, such as the Sonoma Valley Braised Chicken and Lemon Prawns.

The atmosphere at Storytellers Cafe will delight guests of all ages, as well, as classic children’s books come to life. Seven hand painted murals adorn the walls of the cafe, featuring scenes from books like Mark Twain’s “The Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County.”

For quick-service fare, stop by White Water Snacks. This eatery was designed to resemble a campground pavilion, and serves up a variety of palate-pleasing fare like burgers, salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled chicken, pizza and lots more. You can also pick up  a hearty breakfast burrito, Mickey Mouse waffles, an assortment of pastries and baked goods, as well as specialty coffee drinks in the morning.

Finally, the Hearthstone Lounge at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the perfect place for adults to indulge, relax and enjoy the evening with a cocktail from the full-service bar. Socialize in front of the grand fireplace with a group of friends, or return in the morning for a continental breakfast of bakery goods and specialty coffee drinks.

No matter where you dine at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, be it a lounge or family-friendly eatery, you are likely to find something to suit everyone’s cravings.
