Disney Cruise Line Announces First-Ever British Isles Cruise for 2016

Disney Cruise Line has recently announced its 2016 summer sailing itineraries and for the first time ever the cruise line will be sailing to the British Isles.
The 12-night British Isles sailing on the Disney Magic will depart from Dover, England and visit ports in Scotland, Ireland, France, and England.
Some of the destinations for guests include Dublin, Paris, Liverpool, and the countryside of Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
The summer 2016 destinations also include cruises to the Baltic, Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, the Greek Isles, and the Mediterranean.

New Jungle Cruise-Themed Restaurant May Be Coming to Magic Kingdom

There’s been some news swirling about lately regarding the possibility of a new restaurant coming to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom.
If the current rumors are true, that restaurant could be a Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant located in area that used to be home to the Adventureland Veranda Restaurant sponsored by Kikkoman.
In recent year the Veranda has been home to different character meet-and-greets including Tinker Bell and Friends, Lilo & Stitch, and was even a Captain Jack meet-and-greet several years ago.

Disney Channel Developing New Movie ‘Throw Like Mo’

Disney Channel is developing a new Original Movie Throw Like Mo that will tell the story of Mo’Ne Davis, the 13-year-odl who was the first female to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series.
Davis plays for Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons and was the first Little League player on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She’ll also serve as a consultant on the movie.
Throw Like Mo was written by Sheldon Candis and Justin Wilson, and will executive produced by Debra Martin Chase (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Lemonade Mouth).

Innoventions West at Epcot Closing in May for Refurbishment

Disney has announced that Innoventions West in Epcot’s Future World is closing in May for a refurbishment.
The attraction is home to Think presented by IBM, The Great Piggy Bank Adventure presented by T. Rowe Price, and Where’s the Fire presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance.
All three of the attractions will be replaced during the refurbishment. Disney has said that the sponsorship agreements with these companies are ending.
There is no word yet as to what might be replacing the exhibits in Innoventions West. The current exhibits in Innoventions East will remain. Those …

Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend Adds Infinity Gauntlet Challenge

This year’s Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend at the Disneyland Resort will feature an all-new 19.3 mile challenge, the Infinity Gauntlet Challenge.
This new challenge includes the running of the new Captain America 10K and the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon during the race weekend, November 13-15.
The Infinity Gauntlet Challenge is the fourth challenge event at Disneyland runDisney race weekends and will likely sell out quickly when registration opens on April 7.

New Merchandise Debuting at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting ready to debut some incredible new themed-merchandise.
The new merchandise was created based on a style guide that was developed by the Disney Design Group artists. The style guide contains character sketches, backgrounds, and more.
Included in the new merchandise are resort-specific T-shirts for adults and kids, a Minnie Mouse T-shirt and long sleeved hoodie, a new tote bag, and other clothing selections. There are also new Aloha shirts for adults and kids featuring character sketches and the resort’s Tiki figurine.

This Week in Disney News – Breakfast at Be Our Guest, Easter Eggs at Grand Floridian, and a New Dessert Party

Happy middle of March! We been covering a lot of big stories this week so let’s dive right in!
The week started out with news of a new breakfast offering at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom! Reservations opened March 17, breakfast started on March 20 and will run in this test phase until June 18!
Reservations for another new food-related event opened last week too! The new Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party will be replacing the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party on July 5 and reservations are now open for this nighttime …

Guests Can Vote to Name New Baby Rhino at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Last month, Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomed its second white rhino calf of 2015 and it’s a girl!
The calf is the 10th white rhino to be born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and now Disney is asking fans to weigh in on what the calf’s name should be.
The new calf and her mother haven’t yet debuted on the savannas at the Animal Kingdom – and won’t for at least a couple of months, she’s going to need a name when she does make her grand entrance to the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.

Reservations Now Open for the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom

Reservations opened today, March 20, for the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom.
The first party is planned for July 5, which means the current Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party is ending on July 4. The new Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party is an enhanced and updated version of the Tomorrowland Terrace party.
Guests can choose from a selection of themed desserts including chocolate mousse, ice cream, seasonal fruit and cheeses, Disney character-themed cupcakes, and more.

Disney Announces D23 Expo Japan 2015 to Take Place in November at Tokyo Disney Resort

The Walt Disney Company has announced that the D23 Expo Japan 2015 is scheduled for November 6-8 at the Tokyo Disney Resort.
The Expo debuted in Japan in 2013 to much fanfare.
This year’s Expo will focus on the “power of the story” and will bring together the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel. Events include panels, presentations, and exhibits.
The Walt Disney Archives will have a special exhibit focusing on Disney Princesses. The exhibit will include costumes, artwork, vintage collectibles, and film props.
