Avatar Land Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2015

Despite internet speculation that Avatar Land is in trouble, Disney CEO Bob Iger says the project is still very much underway – and can be expected to open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park sometime in 2015.

During Disney’s annual shareholder meeting last week, Iger announced the estimated target date during an question and answer session, but few details have been released about this 500 million dollar project. However, we do know that Avatar Land will be one of several themed after the film that will be built at many of the Disney parks at some point.

As of this writing, no further information has surfaced regarding Avatar Land, but Iger did say at the meeting that “the design work is just beginning.”
