Minnie Vans Now Available for Travel From Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort

Minnie Vans – the popular car service that’s been available at Disney World for the past year – is now available for guests arriving at Orlando International Airport.
Guests can book the Minnie Vans for flight arrivals 7 a.m.-10 p.m. for flight departures 9 a.m.-12 a.m.
Unlike when using the service on property, guests will not call for a Minnie Van using Lyft. Instead they can call 407-WDW-PLAY to book their Minnie Van from the airport.
This service is available to guests staying at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

New Storybook Dining Coming to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Artist Point – the Signature Dining restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – will be transformed into a new character dining experience this winter.
The new Storybook Dining at Artist Point will feature Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and even an appearance from the Evil Queen.
Guests will “venture into an Enchanted Forest-like” setting inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The menu will be a prix fixe menu featuring starters, a plated entree, and “sweet spells” for dessert.
Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is slated to begin this winter.

Disneyland to Eliminate Plastic Straws, Lids, and Shopping Bags Starting this Week

Disney recently announced a conservation initiative that includes eliminating single-use plastic straws, lids, and shopping bags at Disney properties worldwide.
This week at Disney World, it’s been reported that guests at table service locations are no longer receiving straws, but can still request them (kids are still being given straws).
And starting this week, Disneyland Resort will eliminate all single-use straws, lids, and plastic shopping bags from all locations on property.
Guests at Disneyland will only be given single-use plastic straws when requested and plastic lids for adult-size beverages will no longer be …

Digital Key Feature in My Disney Experience App Rolls Out to All Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

The Digital Key feature in the My Disney Experience app has been rolled out to all Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
The feature allows guests to unlock their resort hotel room using the My Disney Experience app.
This is in addition to being able to use your MagicBand to unlock your hotel room.
And because it’s Disney, guests will hear the sound of pixie dust “filling the air” as they unlock their room using their Bluetooth-enabled phone.

Walt Disney World Swan Hotel Lobby Getting a Makeover

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has been undergoing renovations since last fall and now it’s time for the Swan lobby to get a makeover.
The renovation will include the lobby and public spaces (like the front desk, rotunda, and lounge areas) and comes with a $3 million price tag.
The hotel’s coffee bar – Java – is also part of the renovation project.

Celebrations Planned Around Disney Properties for Mickey’s 90th Anniversary

Disney properties around the world will be celebrating the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse with limited-time celebrations.
At Disney World guests can celebrate Mickey’s 90th from November 16-18 with special merchandise and food, a special dance party in Tomorrowland, and more.
In 2019 the World’s Biggest Mouse Party is coming to Disney World too!
At Disneyland guests will celebrate with a “celebration cavalcade for Mickey Mouse on November 18” and then the World’s Biggest Mouse Party will also happen in 2019.

Mobile Order Now Available at Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Guests visiting the Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort can now utilize Mobile Order to place and pay for their order prior to arriving at the walk up window.
Spyglass Grill opened earlier this year near the Trinidad South section of the resort. It is currently the only quick service restaurant at the hotel as construction continues on the soon-to-reopen Centertown Market.
Guests can use Mobile Order through the My Disney Experience app – and pay with their Disney Dining Plan credits if they choose.

More Details Announced for New Dining at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

While we’re waiting for the new dining options to open at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney has announced new details for the waterfront dining and the updated quick service restaurant.
The new quick service area will be called Centertown Market and it will feature an “indoor street market vibe.”
Guests will enter the area under a palapa-like structure and the area will feature “open shutters, wooden light posts, awnings, ornamentation and unique seating areas.” Grab and go items will also be available.

Four Hotels at Disney World to Remain “Dog Friendly”

Last month we reported that it appeared that the dog friendly hotels at Disney World might be ending their pilot program on October 15. But now it looks like they’ll remain “dog friendly.”
Disney’s official page listing the details for the four dog friendly hotels – Yacht Club, Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness – no longer has an end date listed for what was a pilot program.

Duffy’s Newest Friend, ‘Olu, Arrives at Aulani

Duffy the Disney bear has a new friend who has joined him at Disney’s Aulani Resort.
‘Olu arrives at Aulani on July 27 with an exclusive line of brand new merchandise!
Duffy met ‘Olu as Mickey and Duffy were sailing the islands in search of the perfect birthday present for ShelliMay and they heard beautiful ‘ukulele music coming from a cove — and that’s where they found ‘Olu.
What a sweet story.
And Duffy and ‘Olu became fast friends and now they’ll be making guests smile at Aulani.
