Disney Channel’s ‘The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar’ Premieres in November

lion guardThe story of The Lion King continues in The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, an all-new primetime movie premiering in November on Disney Channel.

The movie tells the story of Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala as he assumes his role as leader of the Lion Guard – a team of animals who protect the Pride Lands.

The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar is a precursor to The Lion Guard television series which will deubt on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in 2016.

Voice talent for The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar includes James Earl Jones as Mufasa Ernie Sabella as Pumbaa, Rob Lowe as Simba, and Gabrielle Union as Nala. Other voice cast members include Max Charles as Kion, Joshua Rush as Bunga, Atticus Shaffer as Ono, Diamond White as Fuli, and Dusan Brown as Beshte.

The movie and the television series will follow Kion and the rest of the Lion Guard as they learn to use their unique abilities to solve problems, accomplish tasks, and maintain balance in the Circle of Life.

The Education and Science experts from Disney’s Animal Kingdom are consultants for the movie and the series, providing advice on characteristics, behaviors, and habitats of the African animals in the stories.
