The inaugural Spectacular took place in the fall of 2014 and was such a huge hit that it’s being expanded to run for five weeks this year – from the end of September until the end of October.
The 2015 Marvel Super Hero Spectacular will introduce a new marketing and retail strategy that includes more partners and more merchandise.
This campaign will also focus on core Marvel franchises including The Avengers, Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Partners returning for the 2015 event include Hasbro, Party City, Payless, and Hallmark.
“‘Marvel Super Hero Spectacular’ was born purely from the excitement, success, and continued demand from last year’s ‘Marvel Super Hero September’ campaign. Fans showed us, along with our licensees and retailers, the passion and love they have for the Marvel brand,” said Paul Gitter, senior vice president of licensing for Marvel at Disney Consumer Products.
