Disney Continues Development on ‘Hover Car Racer’

Disney bought the rights to produce Matthew Reilly’s young adult book Hover Car Racer in 2004, and since then has gone through three writers in an effort to produce a useable script. Now, X2-X-Men United scribe Dan Harris has been brought on board to work on the script for the sci-fi flick.

The movie will be based on the popular fiction novel, and centers around a world where humans travel in vehicles that hover above the ground. In this future, racing the vehicles has become a sport, and the film will center around a young man who enters an international race.

Harris also wrote the script for the 2006 film Superman Returns. Let’s hope the fourth time is the charm for Hover Car. We will keep you updated on any further developments.
