Disney Creates New Dance for ‘Platypus Day’

The Disney Channel has created a new dance specifically for Platypus Day, the holiday the network created that celebrates Perry the Platypus from the hit show Phineas and Ferb.

Platypus Day lands on Saturday, March 3, and the new dance will coincide with the holiday along with the song “The Platypus Walk,” which will feature a fun surf-rock sound and the accompanying dance. The song debuted yesterday on Radio Disney, and Disney Channel’s website will include a tutorial teaching viewers the dance steps.

Further celebration will include 11 hours of Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the holiday, while Disney XD will air 12 hours of episodes. Both channels will also introduce “The Platypus Walk” music video, which showcases stars from various Disney Channel shows.

Check out a sneak peak of the dance in the video clip below, and be prepared to celebrate Platypus Day on March 3, 2012!
