Director and producer Kevin Gill, a key player in the early days of MTV and an exec at Disney, passed away earlier this month at the age of 54.
In the early days of his career, Gill worked at MTV directing the original VJ’s and rock star guests. He also went on to direct and produce several soap operas as well as the teen-hosted Disney Channel show The Movie Surfers.
In 1991, Gill became a programming executive at The Walt Disney Co. and helped spearhead the launch of several “Disney Clubs” worldwide, including in Australia, South America and Asia.
He is survived by his mother, sister and brothers.
