Disney Dream Rescues Two People from Distressed Boat

Last week, crew members from the Disney Dream rescued two people from a vessel in distress, sources have reported.

The cruise ship responded to a distress call from the vessel in the Bahamas, where they rescued two U.S. citizens who were on board the small watercraft. Spokeswoman Rebecca Peddle said the people were immediately brought on board the Disney Dream and given food and medical attention.

Once the people were on board, the cruise line notified the U.S. Coast Guard and the passengers were brought to Port Canaveral aboard the Disney Dream. In a statement, the cruise line said “We are proud of our Disney Dream crew members, who skillfully demonstrated their training and commitment to maritime protocols around saving lives at sea.”

The cruise ship was in its final day when they received the distress call. While it was immediately obvious the boat was dead in the water, it was also apparent that there were no life-threatening medical injuries at the time of the rescue.
