Disneyland Restaurants and Pastry Chef Win Top Honors

For the last 36 years, the Southern California Restaurant Writers, Inc. have been selecting winners from south Santa Barbara to the border of Mexico for their annual awards, and Disneyland resort restaurants received top honors in 5 categories at their banquet held Sunday. Additionally, Executive Pastry Chef Jean-Marc Viallet (Disneyland Resort) received the supreme honor of being awarded Pastry Chef of the Year!

Other Disney restaurants that received awards included:

Napa Rose ( Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel) and Steakhouse 55, located in the Disneyland Hotel, were both awarded the Golden Bacchus Wine Award for their extensive wine selections. Both restaurants were also awarded the Golden Sceptre (Five Star.)

Ariel’s Grotto (Disney’s California Adventure Park) and Blue Bayou (New Orleans Square, Disneyland) took home the Gold Four Star award, while Goofy’s Kitchen (Disneyland Hotel) and Storyteller’s Cafe (Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa) took home the Sterling Three Star awards for their restaurants.

Despite such a large region to draw upon for their awards, the Southern California Restaurant Writers, Inc. truly recognize great food when they see it. Congratulations to all of the Disney restaurants that received awards, and to Jean-Marc Viallet for his amazing win!
