The very popular “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” promotion has been ended according to the Disney Parks Website. The promotion launched this year as a way to encourage and reward volunteer-ism. The program had a goal of reaching one million volunteers and has already reached that goal by early March.
While the enthusiasm for the program must represent a success for Disney, there is some question as to whether they will get the maximum PR benefit for a program that is already concluded in March. How can they use this program to generate further goodwill and attention when it is already closed. While this may be of concern to the Disney company, the organizations which benefited from their program are unlikely to be bothered.
