‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ Themed Artwork Coming to Downtown Disney District

Next month, WonderGround Gallery at the Downtown Disney District in Disneyland Resort will be showcasing some Oz The Great and Powerful-themed artwork from artist Joey Chou.

The breathtaking pieces are charming and vibrant, and Chou explains his inspiration behind the artwork this way:

I really wanted to capture that rare moment when Oscar first finds himself in the vibrant Land of Oz, as he sets out on a journey that will, no doubt, change the course of his life. The next piece follows Oscar as he embarks on his travels, ultimately choosing the path to China Town, where he encounters an enchanting China Girl. The final piece takes you inside the Land of Oz amidst its charms. It is in itself great and powerful, so I wanted to create a piece that captured all of the film’s notable characters, as if they were to appear with a bit of magic, out of a hat, truly behind the wizard’s curtain. I’m really excited to see the response to this new film and can only hope that these pieces will inspire Disney fans to take that moment home with them.

If you want to see these pieces of art for yourself, make sure to stop by WonderGround Gallery on March 9. Chou will also be on hand for a special signing from 5 to 7 p.m. Additionally, the artist will be on hand every Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of March to help out with WonderGround Gallery’s artist in residence program.

These Oz pieces are only available for a limited time, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to see them in person!
