Great Wolf Resorts has reportedly purchased 50 acres of land near the Walt Disney World Resort for $23 million.
According to reports Great Wolf – the Wisconsin-based water park resort chain – is going to build an 800-unit hotel across I-4 from Disney Springs.
The purchase was made by GWR Orlando Property Owner which is a Great Wolf affiliate. The land is located next to the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas.
There are 14 Great Wolf Resorts in the United States but this would be the first in Florida and it might feature and indoor-outdoor water park.
Great Wolf Lodges feature a log cabin style hotel (think Disney’s Wilderness Lodge) with indoor water parks featuring slides, wave pools, and more. Guests can also enjoy conference space, mini golf, spas, and restaurants.
There is no word yet on when any construction might begin.
