Rumor: Disney Springs to Replace Proposed Hyperion Wharf Development at Downtown Disney Orlando

According to a post at Walt Disney World News Today, the entire Downtown Disney area in Walt Disney World may soon be getting some much needed attention.

The post includes several photos from a leaked source that detail plans for an area called Disney Springs. The new plan appears to unify the three distinct areas of present day Downtown Disney, while also providing the area formerly known as Pleasure Island with a much needed overhaul.

While we first brought you news of the Disney Springs rumor last month, the concept art and details in the latest report seem to give credence to the early stories. The new plans provide not only new and interesting venues, but they also address current parking concerns with the construction of a parking garage to ease parking woes.  In addition, the Disney Springs backstory would give some much-needed cohesion to an area which has grown with no clear plan or master design.
