The Disney Parks Presents a Disney Channel Holiday Celebration will air on Disney Channel on Friday, December 1 at 8:30 p.m. The special is hosted by Raven-Symoné and Issac Ryan Brown from Raven’s Home.
On ABC you can catch The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration on Thursday, November 30 at 9-11 p.m. This special is hosted by Julianne Hough and Nick Lachey and includes holiday fun from Disney World and Disneyland.

The premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants 2 will be shown simultaneously on five networks within the Disney/ABC Television Group on July 21.
The movie will premiere on Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform, and Lifetime.
The film is the sequel to 2015’s Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, which was the fifth most watched movie in cable television history.

The annual Disney Christmas television special is set to air Sunday, December 25 on ABC. The Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration is hosted this year by Julianne and Derek Hough.
This is the 33rd year for the Christmas morning special and this year’s show features a Christmas parade in Disneyland with Good Morning America’s Jesse Palmer.

The Disneyland Resort’s Diamond Celebration continues this year with a two-hour television event, The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 airing Sunday, February 21 on ABC.
The show is hosted by Dancing with the Stars’ Derek Hough and will feature scenes from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and landmarks at Disneyland including Sleeping Beauty Castle and Cars Land.

The Walt Disney Company has signed a multiyear distribution deal with DirecTV which gives the satellite broadcaster rights to online video services from ABC, ESPN, and Disney Channel.
The deal means that DirecTV subscribers will have access to Disney content on their televisions, smartphones, tablets, game consoles, and other devices.
DirecTV’s previous deal with Disney was set to expire at the end of this year.

The team mascots for the four college football teams in the College Football Playoffs are starring in a new slate of television spots that play off the ‘I’m going to Disney World!’ ad campaign.
The mascots – Brutus Buckeye from The Ohio State University, Big Al from the University of Alabama, the Duck from the University of Oregon, and the Garnet and Gold Guys from Florida State University – will appear in the television spots on ABC and ESPN during the holidays.

This month is National Bullying Prevention Month and Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) is working to promote way families can prevent bullying.
DATG has partnered with GLSEN, Pacer, and GLAAD to promote the anti-bullying campaign.

Disney has announced the 11 companies participating in the Disney Accelerator program.
The Disney Accelerator, powered by Techstars, is connecting innovative companies with the Walt Disney Company and giving them access to the creative expertise and resources needed to help them develop new entertainment experiences and products.
The companies selected for the mentorship program are: Buzzstarter, ChoreMonster, Codarica, Cogo, Jogg, Sphero, Sidelines, Snow Shoe, Twigtale, Tyffon, Zombiebooth, and Ubooly.

The Walt Disney Company has announced a new three-month mentorship and seed-stage investment program for startups called Disney Accelerator.
The program will be based in Los Angeles and is powered by Techstars. Michael D. Abrams, Disney’s senior vice president, Innovation, is overseeing the project.
Ten startup companies will be selected to participate in the program and will receives $120,000 in investment capital to develop their ideas in addition to receiving mentorship support from Disney executives.
