The Walt Disney Company Donates $1 Million to OneOrlando Fund in Wake of Mass Shooting

disneyThe Walt Disney Company announced that it has made a $1 million cash commitment to the OneOrlando Fund in the wake of the mass shooting that took place in Orlando last weekend.

The fund was set up by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dryer to assist those who were affected by the shooting at the Pulse nightclub.

Eligible donations from Disney employees will be matched “dollar for dollar” by the Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts said everyone with Disney is mourning the loss of the victims and they offer their condolences to their families and friends.

Cast members and other Walt Disney World Resort employees are able to donate blood at five locations on the resort property in coordination with OneBlood. Walt Disney World Resort is also providing complimentary accommodations to friends and family members of the victims.
