The Week in Disney News: Disney World Closes Ahead of Hurricane Irma, New Holiday Events Announced, and More

The Walt Disney World Resort is closed today and tomorrow due to Hurricane Irma. The hotels remain open but all theme parks, water parks, Disney Spring, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports are closed until at least Tuesday.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is celebrating the holiday season this fall with a new event – Sunset Seasons Greetings.

Epcot’s Holidays Around the World has been renamed the Epcot International Festival of Holidays and that event starts November 19.

Out on the West Coast, Disney California Adventure is celebrating Disney/Pixar’s Coco with a new family-friendly event, Plaza de la Familia. And the holiday celebration, Festival of Holidays, starts November 10.

One Man’s Dream at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been renamed Walt Disney Presents.

And finally, Disney’s Animal Kingdom now has a nighttime VIP tour – Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour!
