The Week in Disney News: New Restaurants Announced, My Disney Experience Updated, and More

wdw45Happy last-day-of-the-weekend! We hope you’re relaxing and enjoying the days off. It’s been another busy week in Disney news so let’s dive in and see what happened!

You’ll (hopefully) never get lost at the Walt Disney World theme parks again, thanks to the new “Get Directions” feature in the updated My Disney Experience app!

Two new restaurants were announced during the week – The Polite Pig is coming to Disney Springs in 2017 and PizzeRizzo is opening this fall at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the former spot of Toy Story Pizza Planet.

This fall is also the 45th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom and Disney has given us a sneak peek at the commemorative merchandise for the celebration. It’s safe to say we want it all.

Speaking of celebrations, Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration runs through September 5 – so you still have time to celebrate the resort’s 60th anniversary. If you can make it out west, check out the live stream of the Paint the Night Parade on July 25 on the Disney Parks Blog.

And finally, Dinosaur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is closing July 25 for a refurbishment. There’s no official word on when it will reopen, but it will likely be something this fall.

That’s the big news from last week! We’re sure this week will be full of fun and exciting news too. Stay tuned to DisZine for all the Disney news every week. And be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us over on Facebook.
