Updates on Star Wars Weekends Events and Appearances

Star Wars Weekends 2013 starts May 17, and we have some updated information about celebrity appearances and other special events.

During Weekend I (May 17-19), the celebrities include Ray Park (Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI Return of the Jedi), and Dee Bradley Baker who provided the voice for Captain Rex in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Ray Park returns for Weekend II (May 24-26), along with Warwick Davis who played Wicket the Ewok in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and Jim Cummings who was the voice of Hondo Ohnaka in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Joining Warwick Davis during Weekend III (May 31-June 2) is Tim Rose who played Admiral Ackbar in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and Sam Witwer who provided the voice for Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The final weekend (June 7-9) brings Billy Dee Williams who played Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI Return of the Jedi, Peter Mayhew who starred as Chewbacca in Star Wars Episode VI A New Hope, Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and Episode III Revenge of the Sith, and Tom Kane who was the voice of Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

In addition to the scheduled celebrities, guests will have a chance to get a photo taken with a “life size” rancor – Jabba the Hutt’s pet from Return of the Jedi. The replica is 17 feet long and weighs more than 700 pounds.

Guests will also have a chance to see several one-man shows, giving them insight into the on-screen and off-screen lives of the Star Wars celebrities. James Arnold Taylor’s “Obi Wan & Beyond” is a journey into the world of voice acting, Ray Park’s “Visit to the Maul” features a martial arts demonstration by the actor, and Warwick Davis is presenting “An Ewok’s Tale.”

“Obi Wan & Beyond” is scheduled for each event day during the Star Wars Weekends, while “Visit to the Maul” is planned for Weekends I and II, and “An Ewok’s Tale” happens during Weekends II and III.

Star Wars Weekends happens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios May 17-19, May 24-26, May 31-June 2, and June 7-9. Admission to Hollywood Studios is required.
