Walt Disney World and Part Time Workers Reportedly Close to Contract Deal

Lacking any of the tension that marred last year’s contract talks with unions representing full time workers, Walt Disney World and its largest labor group are close to a new contract deal for the resort’s part time, or “casual regular,” workers.

Highlights of the proposed new contract include bonuses of up to $275 for workers who do not earn tips, and $50 for those who do.  In addition, the new contract would add two additional holidays, Labor Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, that the approximately 10,000 casual regular cast members could be eligible for.

Both sides expect a vote on the contract in June.
