Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, a value level hotel located in the Walt Disney World Resort area, opened in 1994 and features gigantic sports icons celebrating tennis, baseball, basketball, football and surfing. All of the guest rooms are divided into 5 3-story themed areas, dubbed Home Run Hotel, Hoops Hotel, Touchdown!, Surfs Up!, and Center Court.
There are two types of rooms available to hotel guests, including standard rooms and preferred rooms. Preferred rooms can feature a view of the parking lot, courtyard or pool depending on availability.
For a quick bite to eat, guests can head over to the End Zone Food Court, a budget-priced dining establishment with lots of sports-themed paraphernalia on the walls. This quick-service restaurant features breakfast, lunch and dinner selections, so you’ll likely find something to please every palate. If you want to shop, you can visit Sport Goofy’s Gifts and Sundries inside the Stadium Hall, where you can pick up a variety of Disney merchandise or vacation necessities you may have forgotten.
Recreational activities are also available for guests staying at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, including plenty of fun for children, teens and adults alike. The Game Point Arcade is perfect for bigger kids, and features a variety of high-tech video games and pinball machines. Smaller children can enjoy the playground, which is located between the Surfs Up! and Touchdown! sections of the hotel. The playground features plenty of play equipment to entertain the littlest kids, and offers a way for them to have fun while you’re not at the parks.
Adults can enjoy the 1-mile jogging trail located around the All-Star Sports Resort, and can pick up a map of the trail from the Concierge located in the Melody Hall building. You can also sit back and relax at one of two swimming pools located at the resort. The main pool is a beach-themed swimming area dubbed Surfboard Bay, while the second pool, named the Grand Slam Pool, is modeled after a baseball diamond. Kids will probably prefer this pool, because Goofy resides on the pitcher’s mound and shoots water at nearby swimmers.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort features giant, larger-than-life icons representing the best of the sports world and offers families plenty of opportunities to kick back, relax and enjoy their stay. Even those who aren’t sports fans will appreciate the atmosphere of this value resort.
