Themed Rooms at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World hotels offer several themed rooms in their Specialty Room line, and are continuously coming up with more new,  innovative ideas for possible themed rooms in the future.

One of the newest themed rooms added to Walt Disney World’s specialty room line are the health and wellness suites at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The rooms are designed to make guests feel like they are relaxing in a tranquil, spa-like environment and the various amenities helps deliver. The bathrooms feature rainwater showers and tea tree oils while the bedroom features 100 percent cotton sheets, bamboo floors and non-allergenic mattresses.

Another new offering is featured at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts. Here, Disney has created 512 Royal Guest Rooms that are decorated with fiber-optic headboards, Disney Princess decor, artwork, and gold and crystal accents. These rooms were themed after the title character in The Princess and the Frog, Princess Tiana, and all of her royal friends.

The two latest specialty rooms join a varied list of themed rooms already available at Walt Disney World Resort, including the pirate-themed rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. These pirate rooms are immensely popular and feature nautical decor throughout the room. Plus, the rooms also include beds shaped to resemble a pirate ship.

When the Art of Animation Resort opens in 2012, more themed rooms will be added to Walt Disney World Resort’s specialty room line. With this value resort, the rooms will be themed after Finding Nemo, Cars, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.

Themed rooms at Walt Disney World are always very popular and usually need to be booked well in advance. With the opening of the Art of Animation Resort next year, even more rooms will be added and it’s very likely that Disney has other plans for these specialty rooms in the works as well.
