Official Trailer for ‘The Secret World of Arrietty’ Now Available

Based on Mary Norton’s book series The Borrowers, the Studio Ghibli film The Secret World of Arrietty follows the story of little people living undetected beneath the floorboards in a secret world, just waiting to be discovered. The protagonist of the film, Arrietty (voiced by Bridgit Mendler) is eventually discovered when 12 year old Shawn moves into the home, and the pair strike up a secret friendship.

‘Chronicle’ Scribe Max Landis Sells Sci-Fi Film Pitch to Disney

Sources have reported that Chronicle scribe Max Landis recently sold an as-yet-untitled sci-fi film pitch to Disney, with Andrew Panay on board as a producer.
While the details about the film pitch are sketchy right now, it has been described as an “emotional journey of a brother and sister as they undertake an epic adventure.”

‘Lady and the Tramp’ Blu-Ray to Include a Previously Unreleased Song

Disney’s Lady and the Tramp will be available on Blu-ray February 7, and with it comes a previously unreleased tune that was cut from the original recording.
When the film was being made, Tramp’s character went through several changes before evolving into the loveable rogue he eventually became. Because of this, the song “I’m Free” was dropped from the movie as it no longer seemed to fit in with the film.

Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Will Assemble for Global Tweet Up January 31

Marvel Studios has announced that The Avengers will be assembling…on Twitter!  The studio will sponser a Global Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 31, from 11:00-11:30 a.m. PST.  Participating in the live chat will be writer/director Joss Whedon as well as cast members Tom Hiddleston (Loki in Thor) and Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson in the Iron Man series.)

Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Radio Rebel’ Premieres February 17

Up and coming Disney starlet Debbie Ryan stars in the latest Disney Channel Original Movie Radio Rebel, which premieres Friday, February 17. Ryan also stars in the Disney Channel series Jessie.
She plays Tara Adams, a shy high school student who secretly lets her rebellious persona show through when she begins hosting a nightly podcast where she plays music and empowers the other students with her messages to “be yourself.”
Eventually, Tara’s two lives collide and she is faced with the decision to reveal that she is Radio Rebel.

Disney’s ‘Frozen’ to be Computer Animated

Ricky Strauss Named As Head of Walt Disney Studios Marketing

This week, Disney announced that Ricky Strauss has been named as Walt Disney Studios’ head of worldwide marketing. He will replace MT Carney in the position, who departed the company earlier this week.
Unlike Carney, who many criticized for her lack of movie marketing experience, Strauss comes to the role with 25 years of experience in the film industry. Most recently, Strauss was President of Participant Media, who produced such films as The Help, Contagion, and The Kite Runner. Prior to that, Strauss worked at Sony Pictures for 16 years as …
