Disney Fantasy Construction Reaches Milestone, Final Building Block Added

5 September 2011 No Comment

We’re so excited about the new Disney Fantasy cruise ship coming in 2012, and this weekend it took one major step toward completion. The final building block was added to the brand new cruise ship at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where the Fantasy is being built. This is a major milestone for the ship’s construction, as it means that the exterior of the ship has been completed, with work now shifting to complete the interior of the ship.

The exciting new cruise ship will include a new nightclub district, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a brand new “Animation Magic” show at the Animator’s Palate restaurant, and more. We can’t wait to see more from this new ship as it nears completion, with its maiden voyage scheduled for March 31, 2012.

The Disney Parks Blog provided some pictures detailing the addition of the final building block, as well as a time-lapse video. Check out this great look at the ship’s major milestone below.
