Disney VoluntEARS Create ‘The Little Mermaid’ Sculpture for CANstruction

For the 4th annual CANstruction Orange County competition, Disney VoluntEARS created a sculpture of Flounder and Sebastian from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. CANstruction holds competitions every year for teams to compete and build sculptures entirely out of canned goods, whereby the cans are then donated to local charities.

Almost 5,400 cans of food were used to create the sculpture, including juice pouches, corn and black beans – that translates to 4,200 pounds of food! CANstruction, a charity devoted to ending world hunger, are donating all of the cans used in the competition to the Orange County Food Bank.
