Minnie’s Moonlit Madness and a Day at the Beach Community Outreach Events

Disney cast members presented the Orange County’s Pacific Symphony with a check for $5,000. The money was raised during an annual cast-member charity event called Minnie’s Moonlit Madness.

A cast member favorite, Minnie’s Moonlit Madness is a trivia-game-cum-scavenger-hunt in Disneyland where teams of four must complete a list of 10 assignments before midnight. The catch: all teams of four are tied together with rope! This year, 350 teams from all over the Walt Disney Company – including a team from Aulani – participated in the “Soundsational”-themed charity event, raising $5,000 from the teams’ entry fees.

This community outreach project comes closely on the heels of a day at the beach in January, when over 150 Disney VoluntEARS walked the shoreline near Port Canaveral. At the end of the day, more than 250 pounds of trash had been cleared away.

This isn’t the first time that VoluntEARS have spent a day at the beach; Disney has been supporting and helping out with shoreline cleanup for almost 20 years. According to Disney’s blog, roughly 40,000 pounds of trash has been removed from coastal areas by such efforts.
