Dumbo to Adorn the Stern of Disney’s Newest Ship, Fantasy

13 September 2011 No Comment

It’s become quite a tradition within Disney Cruise Lines to immortalize a Disney characters by having them adorn the sterns of each ship in playful fashion.  So far, we’ve seen Goofy touching up the paint on the Magic, Donald working on the Wonder (with a little “help” from one of his nephews), and Sorcerer Mickey “magicking” the work done on the Dream.

So, who will serve as the Stern for the much anticipated Disney Fantasy, Disney’s fourth ship, which is due next spring?  Why, everyone’s favorite flying elephant, Dumbo!

While Imagineers put the final touches on Dumbo, we’re happy to bring you a photo of the little guy, accompanied and aided by his best pal, Timothy the mouse.

The choice is interesting, as it represents DCL’s first venture outside of the main Disney characters of Mickey and Friends.  We’re anxious to see what other surprises that Disney has in store for us with its latest ship.
