While all eyes were focused on Disneyland yesterday for the grand opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, Walt Disney World guests had a new opening to enjoy as well. The Fantasyland Expansion took one step closer to completion yesterday, as the Storybook Circus attractions Casey Jr. Splash Station and “doubled” Dumbo the Flying Elephant were unveiled to the public, giving guests a complete look at the area in anticipation of its official opening in July.
The Casey Jr. Splash Station, a water play area themed to the circus train from Dumbo, opened yesterday to guests, giving children the chance to take a break and cool off in this fun and well-themed area. Also unveiled, although not opened, was the second spinner of the updated Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction. While the attraction is currently open with just one spinner, the attraction will feature an interactive queue area and second Dumbo spinner when it officially opens in July. The attraction, the Orlando Sentinel reports, is currently only open for cast member training, with no plans to open the attraction to the public this weekend. There is no word yet on when the revamped Dumbo attraction will open to guests for “soft openings” prior to its official debut.
