First Look: Inside Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts in the New Fantasyland

Thanks to our friends at Disney Food Blog, we’re getting a first look today inside of the highly-anticipated New FantasylandGaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts!

Gaston’s Tavern

Located in a new area which pays tribute to the Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast, Gaston’s Tavern will be a brand new counter service location, offering hearty snacks and fun, original beverages.  And although Disney has recently announced its historic decision to offer alcoholic beverages within Magic Kingdom for the first time in its 41-year history, this “tavern” won’t be selling anything harder than LeFou’s Brew — an apple juice concoction.

Disney began allowing guests an unofficial glimpse of the area late last week.  In a pre-soft opening period that they are calling a “dress rehearsal,” cast members are welcoming guests to the new area to be among the first to experience it.  Today, we’re sharing some brand new pictures of the area!

As you approach the Tavern, you’ll first spy this wonderful centerpiece fountain featuring Gaston and his fall guy buddy, Le Fou.

Once inside this warm, rustic spot, this large portrait of Gaston dominates the area over the hearth.

You’ll see many familiar scenes from the film, like this dart board. Clearly, Gaston is beating Le Fou, his opponent.

Gaston’s trophies adorn the walls as well.

My favorite touch, though, is this amazing chandelier – proof that this outdoorsmen extraordinaire truly does use antlers in all of his decorating!

As for food choices, we’re learning that Gaston’s will be the perfect place to grab an interesting drink and a hearty snack. While we have already been promised that the warm cinnamon rolls will be wonderful, today we’re hearing of a brand new hearty snack that will debut in this spot: roasted pork shanks!

Destined to be an interesting alternative to the famous Disney Turkey Legs, we’re looking forward to our first sample of this latest meat-on-a-stick option. We are also looking forward to tasting LeFou’s Brew, which, according to Disney Food Blog, will be “a no-sugar added frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow, then topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam.”

This beverage treat will be served in your choice of a souvenir goblet or stein.

Bonjour! Village Gifts

After a bite to eat, you’ll probably want to check out this brand-new gift shop, which specializes in Beauty and the Beast-themed merchandise.

Here, you’ll find beautiful dinnerware featuring Belle and Beast.

Coordinating goblets and drinkware will complete your fantasy table setting, or will make for special souvenirs to remember your trip to Magic Kingdom.

And what better dessert for your special castle meal than a parting chocolate rose?

After this fun photo tour, I personally can’t wait for my first trip to Belle’s Village in the New Fantasyland! But before you plan a trip to see the new attractions, understand that there is no guarantee that these new venues will be open each day during this “pre-soft opening” preview. Look for the official soft opening to begin on November 19, with a grand opening on December 6.

  • I am looking for the Beauty and the Beast china dish sets (shown on your website diszine), can you help me locate them where I can purchase them?

    Thank you,
    Maureen

  • Maureen – Those dishes are available at the gift shop next to Gaston’s Tavern in the Magic Kingdom.

  • I love this shop – wish I had bought more!
There is a book/novel available there and I can’t for the life of me remember what it is called. It is on the right hand side of the shop as you go in. Any suggestions?
