152748_5day_cone_no_line_and_windSunday night, Hurricane Irma took a somewhat unexpected turn toward the Orlando area and the Walt Disney World Resort experienced heavy wind and rains overnight.

The Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports all remain closed today, September 11.

However, they will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Disney is in the process of assessing damage and the Orlando area – including Disney World guests – are under a curfew until 6 p.m. today.

Guests have been sharing photos of some light damage at several resorts including Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

Other social media posts have shows several large trees down at Disney’s BoardWalk, tree limb down at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and a large tree down near the pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
