Disney Shuts Down ‘Epic Mickey’ Studio Junction Point

Junction Point, the game developer behind Epic Mickey and the follow-up sequel, has been shut down by Disney.
In a statement released by the company, Disney said:
It was with much sadness that we informed our teams today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios. These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and to align resources against our key priorities. Disney Interactive Reports $216 Million Loss

Disney Interactive, the media giant’s game division, posted a $216 million loss for its full year and fourth quarter, which ended September 29. It was the only unit within The Walt Disney Co. that did not see a profit.
Despite the loss, it was an improvement over the $308 million dollar loss the company reported this time last year. Disney attributes the improvement to the continued focus on the division’s social games presence.

‘Epic Mickey 2’ Demo Now Available On Xbox Live & PSN Network

A mere two weeks from it’s official release date, Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two now has a playable demo on Xbox Live and PSN Network.
The demo has players controlling Mickey Mouse as he works through the opening tutorial, and allows gamers to play a few of the early levels in the sequel to the smash hit Epic Mickey. During the demo, players will also meet Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to experience some of the co-op features the full game includes.

Disney Interactive Releases Oswald Vignette for ‘Epic Mickey 2’

Disney Interactive has released a game-play vignette in anticipation of their upcoming game Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
The latest vignette features Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and allows fans to learn a bit more about Oswald’s backstory and his abilities in-game. Narrated by creator Warren Spector, the short clip will whet would-be players’ appetites for the official launch of the game.
Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be released November 18 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PC/Mac. A Wii U version is currently in development.

‘Epic Mickey’ Sequel Will Be Available for Wii U

Disney’s upcoming title Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be available for the launch of the Wii U, sources have confirmed.
Early this morning, Disney issued a press release outlining the details of the Wii U version, including when it will be available. Bill Roper, vice president and general manager of production, Disney Interactive said:

Disney Interactive Studios Releases Opening Cinematic for ‘Epic Mickey 2’

Disney Interactive has released the opening cinematic for their upcoming game Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
In this trailer, you are able to see how Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit ended up in their predicament as well as get a little insight into the backstory of the game. The trailer also shows a few of the Disney characters you can expect to see in-game.
