All Walt Disney World Resort Park Entrances Are Now Turnstile Free

Earlier this week the Magic Kingdom reached a milestone as the park’s last touch point entry system was unveiled.
With the unveiling all Walt Disney World Resort park entrances are turnstile free.
In February of this year, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park was the first park to trade in its turnstiles for touch point entries. The other parks have seen turnstiles replaced by touch point systems throughout the year.

Disney Responds to Disabled ‘Black Market Guides’ Posing as Family Members

It has been two days since the New York Post published an article exposing the recent practice of New York haute monde hiring disabled “guides” to masquerade as family members during Walt Disney World vacations.
Why? So they can skip the lines at the parks.
Disney’s reaction has been brief but decisive. According to Disney spokesperson Bryan Malenius, Disney is investigating these and other, similar claims of guests abusing handicap considerations at the parks. As Malenius told CNN,

Disney Set to Begin Rollout of RFID Technology to Passholders

Walt Disney World annual passholders have been wondering when they would get in on the new RFID technology that the resort is rolling out. Now, word is coming that the transition is set to begin immediately.
According to ContactlessNews.com, guests who purchase or renew their annual passes on or after March 20 — today — will be issued passes that utilize the new technology. Privacy at Risk: Congress Requires Disney to Answer Questions About My Magic+

Disney landed squarely in the hot seat yesterday, as the U.S. Congress demanded that the company answer questions regarding magic bands that guests will use in conjunction with My Magic+.
In a letter addressed to CEO Robert Iger, Edward Markey, (D- Mass) co-chairman of the Congressional Bi-Partisan Privacy Caucus, required that Disney provide information about the new bracelets, which implement RFID technology, no later than February 14.  Congressman Markey’s chief concerns centered around the privacy of guests and how information harvested from use of the bracelets would be put to use — …
