The Walt Disney Company and Subway Restaurants Collaborate for Release of ‘Monsters University’ and ‘The Lone Ranger’

This summer Disney is once again collaborating with SUBWAY restaurants to celebrate the release of two highly-anticipated summer movies – Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University and Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger.

SUBWAY is the “Official Training Restaurant for Monsters Everywhere” and throughout the month of June monsters will be making cameo appearances in commercials for the restaurants, and all Fresh Fit For Kids meals will come in a Monsters University reusable backpack. The backpack comes with a code and a chance to win free tickets to see the movie.

In conjunction with the release of The Lone Ranger, fans can look for codes on specially marked SUBWAY Lone Ranger 30 oz. cups and avocado sandwich wrap stickers. The codes access free plays on the new “Partner Up And Win” interactive game at www.subway.com. Fans can also tweet photos with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer cardboard figures found in SUBWAY restaurants around the country. This promotion runs through the months of June and July.

“Collaborating with Disney allows us to connect with kids and families in new ways,” said Michelle Cordial, Director of Marketing Development for SUBWAY restaurants. “We are reinforcing to families the importance of healthy eating and the empowerment they get at Subway.”

In 2012, SUBWAY and Disney collaborated on several films including Disney/Pixar’s Brave, Disney’s Frankenweenie, and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It-Ralph, and won the award for “Best Promotional Campaign” at the 2013 Cynopsis Kids Imagination Awards.

Monsters University opens June 21, and The Lone Ranger rides into theaters on July 3.
