The Walt Disney Company Commits $1 Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief

walt disney company logoThe Walt Disney Company and its ABC affiliate KTRK-Tv have pledged $1 million each to Hurricane Harvey Relief via the American Red Cross.

Harvey struck the Texas Gulf Coast last Friday evening as a category 4 hurricane and has subsequently dumped nearly 50 inches of rain on the Houston area since Saturday. The entire region is covered with flood waters.

On Thursday, August 31, Disney|ABC Television Group will hold a ‘Day of Giving’ to benefit those impacted by Harvey.

There will be a call-to-action to donate to the American Red Cross that will be broadcast all day on ABC local affiliates, Good Morning America, and also on ABC, Freeform, Radio Disney, and across social media platforms.

The money will benefit those most impacted by the flooding.

Eligible Disney employee donation to the American Red Cross and other qualified organizations will be met dollar-for-dollar by Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation.
