Director Lee Unkrich , noted Pixar creative force who is most recently known for his work on the blockbuster “Toy Story 3,” will soon add another award to his trophy case, as the University of Southern California graduate has been named the recipient of this year’s Mary Pickford Alumni Award.

The award, which recognizes alumni contributions to the cinematic arts, will be presented to Unkrich at the graduation ceremony for USC’s School of the Cinematic Arts.  The ceremony will be held May 13 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Said Dean Elizabeth M. Daley of Unkrich:  “We are…proud to honor Lee Unkrich, a distinguished alum whose tremendous success over the years has been our pleasure to witness.”

Unkrich joins a notable list of SCA graduates who have also been honored with the award, including Robert Zemeckis, Pixar peer Gary Rydstrom, and Jon Landau.
