‘Toy Story 3’ Wins Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature

Director Lee Unkrich Accepting the Golden Globe for 'Toy Story 3'

Disney-Pixar’s “Toy Story 3” represented the only bright spot for Disney films at last night’s 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards.  As predicted, the film won the category of Best Animated Feature Film, beating out even its Disney cousin, “Tangled,” for the prize.

The win represented the only victory for Disney films during the 2011 Golden Globes, which are awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.  Three films – Tim Burton’s live-action “Alice in Wonderland,” “Toy Story 3,” and “Tangled” – had been nominated for a total of six awards.

Fans of ABC Televisions’s “Modern Family”were also disappointed, as that show and its nominated actors Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet also lost out – this time to the wildly popular comedy musical show, “Glee.”
