Following on the heels ofthe announcement of the latest resort ambassadors for Tokyo Disney and Disneyland Resort earlier this week, we now know the cast members who will represent Walt Disney World for the next two years.
Tye Arnold and Rich Tamayo were announced as the latest two Disney ambassadors. The pair will serve in their roles from January 2013 through December 2014.
The Disney Ambassador program was begun in 1965 at Disneyland by Walt Disney and then Disneyland president Jack Lindquist. At the time, Disney himself was overwhelmed with requests for personal appearances. The Ambassadors became the face of the resort, and today, they make appearances at events held within the community, they greet VIPs, and honor special cast member milestones.
Arnold and Tamayo were chosen for the role after an intense two-month screening process. Check out the big moment of the announcement below!
