Central Florida Boys and Girls Club Members Cruising on the Dream

The holidays came early for a group of Central Florida children last week, when Disney Cruise Line president Karl Holz announced that they would be among the first passengers aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Dream.

Accompanied by Mickey Mouse himself, Mr. Holz made the surprise announcement at the Walt Disney World Clubhouse of the Pine Hills Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida.  Forty-five children, as well as their caregivers, were invited to sail aboard the state-of-the-art vessel for a special benefit preview cruise.

The unique two-night cruise, which will take place January 21, 2011, is a unique opportunity for Disney to support the worthy cause; 100 percent of the cruise fare from the trip will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida.

The announcement was met with excitement, jubilation, and even a few happy tears.

The benefit preview cruise marks another chapter in Disney’s support the Boys & Girls Club, a cause that Walt Disney himself championed more than 50 years ago.  Billed as “the positive place for kids,” the Club embodies Disney’s commitment to enriching the lives of children.
