For the first time in history, the Official Disney Fan Club will take its D23 Expo outside of the United States!
The Walt Disney Company Japan officially announced that they will hold the first-ever D23 Expo Japan, which will offer attendees an inside look at the past, present and future of the company. As with the U.S. expo, D23 Expo Japan will feature a wealth of exhibits, presentations, activities and merchandise.
To commemorate the occasion, D23 Expo Japan will hold two special exhibitions as part of its first international event: “Treasures of The Walt Disney Archives” and a retrospective exhibit of Tokyo Disney Resort. Paul Candland, president of The Walt Disney Company Japan, said:
We are thrilled to host this extraordinary, three-day event where all the wonderful worlds of Disney come together. 2013 marks The Walt Disney Company’s 90th anniversary, Disney Channel’s 10th, Disney Mobile’s fifth, the Disney–JCB Card’s fifth, Dlife’s first, and Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th! The D23 Expo Japan allows us to show Disney’s tremendous appreciation to its fans.
The expo will take place October 12-14 at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Stay tuned next month for more information about D23’s first international expo, including ticket prices and more information.
