New Details About Merchandise at D23 Expo, Last Chance to Purchase Discounted Tickets

There’s already a lot to look forward to at this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, and now Disney has released even more exciting information about the event. Held at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 19-21, 2011, the Expo will feature exciting exhibitions, presentations, ceremonies, screenings, and merchandise that showcase all aspects of the Walt Disney Company.

Recently, Disney gave us more details about the wealth of merchandise that fans can expect to see at the event. There will be a large amount of special Disney merchandise premiered at the Expo, as well as exclusive merchandise that fans will only be able to find there. Special D23 Expo Logo Merchandise will be sold, including Vinylmations, apparel, pins, and headwear. These merchandise items will feature the official logo for the 2011 D23 Expo. As a tribute to Walt Disney’s imagination and tremendous legacy, Disney Consumer Products has also commissioned local artist Noah to create an iconic graphic, Remember…it all started with a Mouse, to be featured on merchandise at the Expo. Noah’s work features this year’s Disney films celebrating anniversaries, including One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo and Beauty and the Beast, while also capturing the joy of Walt Disney himself.

Fans of the Disney Parks will be in for a treat, as Disney Theme Park Merchandise will debut some of their newest releases at the event. This will include Disney licensees and artists such as Precious Moments, Jim Shore, and Robert Olszewski, as well as the “Disneyland Vintage Collection,” which pays tribute to Disneyland attractions from the past. The Expo will also feature the release of the limited-edition TRON Monorail and Disneyland Monorail play sets.

Another merchandise release at the Expo to look forward to is the D23 Expo Anniversary Collection. Each day of the Expo, the D23 Expo Dream Store will release limited quantities of commemorative merchandise that celebrates the historical anniversaries of the films One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Alice in Wonderland, and Dumbo. Additionally, the Expo will feature the Disney Dream Collection and D23-Exclusive Jewelry, where Disney fans will be able to find pieces of fine jewelry featuring classic Disney characters and icons. Acme Archives Limited will also be on hand to offer new releases from Disney•Pixar, Disney Studio Art, Disney Limited and Disney Underground.

The D23 Expo Dream Store will also feature some special experiences. At the Dream Store Showcase and Trading Area, guests can trade, swap, and socialize with fellow Disney fans, as well as check out some of the items “in store” from Disney Theme Park Merchandise. Each day, the Dream Store Autograph Sessions will give Disney fans a chance to meet authors, artists, Disney Legends, and other celebrities. Finally, the D23 Expo 2011 Live and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2011. At the auction, Disney fans will be able to bid on exclusive tours, experiences, artwork, props, and more. The auction requires a separate admission fee (in addition to D23 Expo admission), and those who wish to register for the auction should visit www.artofdisneyparks.com.
