Disney Consumer Products Showcasing Disney-Branded Fruit and Vegetables

Disney Consumer Products recently showcased its newest selection of produce, lunch items, and snacks at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Convention in New Orleans.

In the last two year, sales of Disney-branded fruits and vegetables have tripled and more than 3.1 billion servings of Disney-themed fruits and vegetables have been served in the United States since 2006. Some of the newest products feature Mickey Mouse, Disney Princesses, and Marvel superheroes.

“Disney's growth in the produce arena is a great sign that kids and parents are receiving the message and incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their daily meals,” said John T. King, director of licensing, consumables, Disney Consumer Products. “We continue to innovate, delivering flavors that appeal to kids and offering an ever-expanding assortment of fruits and vegetables featuring the Disney characters kids know and love.”

As part of Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living initiative, Disney Consumer Products has a product portfolio with 85 percent of its products meeting the company’s nutritional guidelines, and 15 percent reserved for special occasion treats.

Some of the Disney-themed products recently showcased by DCP include the Marvel and Crunch Pak fresh sliced apples, Disney-branded mangoes by Freska, Disney Berry Quick Fresh Blueberry Snacks by Naturipe, and Disney-branded grapes by Dayka & Hackett, and Disney Foodles which are combinations of fruits, vegetables, and other sides including dips, raisins, or cheese in a fun, Mickey-shaped tray or princess carriage tray.
