Disney Parks Chairman to Serve as Keynote Speaker at the Orange County Business Council’s 2012 Annual Dinner

Yesterday, it was announced that Thomas Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, will be the keynote speaker for the Orange County Business Council (OCBC) 2012 Annual Dinner. Presented by Bentley Prince Street and Kaiser Permanente, the annual dinner will be held at the Hyatt Regency Irvine on February 9, 2012.

The annual dinner theme for next year is “Nothing Rhymes with Orange.” To play off this theme, Staggs will be sharing his perspective on an Orange County success story that has transformed the family entertainment world. The Walt Disney Company has strong ties to Orange County, and is a prime example of the creativity and ingenuity that flourish in the region.

Staggs, who assumed his current role in January 2010, was previously the senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Walt Disney Company. In this role, he played a key part in the company’s corporate transactions, such as the acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios and Marvel Entertainment. He also played an instrumental part in pushing forth company-wide environmental and healthy-food policies.
