In celebration of the upcoming 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star festivities in Anaheim, the MLB and Disney Consumer Products have began to disperse 36 oversized Mickey Mouse statues across Southern California in high-profile locations. Each statue is decorated to represent each of the 30 Major League clubs as well as four All-Star designs, and an American League and a National League design. Standing 7 & 1/2 feet tall and weighing 989 pounds each the Mickey icons are sure to be popular tourist photo spots this summer.
“Mickey Mouse just may be the most popular and most photographed All-Star this summer!” Anaheim City Mayor Curt Pringle said in a statement.
Some of the featured locations that the MLB announced are Angel Stadium, Anaheim City Hall, Downtown Disney, the Kodak and El Capitan Theatres, L.A. Live and the Hollywood Walk of Fame area.
All-Star Week festivities will take place July 9-13 in Anaheim.
